For as long as I can remember, I’ve been enchanted by the medicine of Rose- her beauty, scent, symbolism, and spirit.
As a kid, when all of my friends were spending their money on cheap drugstore imitations of designer perfumes, I gravitated toward the essence of Rose (despite being called a “little old lady” as a result ).
Back then, it was as if my connection to Rose awakened something ancient within me- evoking memories of incensed temples, sacred ceremonies, making offerings to the Goddess, and matriarchal times when the worship of Mother Earth and feminine energy was commonplace.
Now, after years of study and a deep connection with various plants and their signature personalities, I understand more of what this connection means.
The connection humans carry with nature transcends all time and space. Our unique calling and response to specific plants, flowers, trees, berries, fruits, and mycelium- signifies something so much deeper than we may realize at first glance. It’s very personal.
You may notice that you have been called to specific elements of nature, or plants, at specific times in your life.
Maybe you went through a phase of loving Lavender or found yourself obsessed with Jasmine. You may have been fascinated by a particular tree or shrub…
Nature is always attempting to ally with us, to awaken our senses and communicate with us- for healing, creativity, enhancing aliveness, evoking pleasure, or nurturing different aspects of our being.
When we pay attention, this allyship can be so powerful and can help us to awaken our fullest potential.
This is part of the unseen magic that I often teach about in my work with clients.
Nature’s intelligence is intrinsically connected with the intelligence of our bodies.
They speak the same language.
Lately, I’ve noticed an increase in fascination with the medicine of Roses popping up across different platforms.
This is no surprise to me. Perhaps now more than ever, the medicine and magic of Rose is greatly needed in our world.
We are in desperate need of models and teachers to guide us in navigating the current climate with courage, resilience, and discernment.
Rose teaches us all of this and more.
Rose is a magnificent teacher of maintaining healthy boundaries, and how to remain both open-hearted and discerning so that we may not be taken advantage of within our generosity.
Rose also contains a plethora of physical and nutritional benefits that support our health and stress levels.
I adore working with Rose and consider her one of my greatest allies.
