Holidays are meant to bring joy and relaxation, but often, we feel pressure, expectations, and a sense of obligation to do everything and see everyone.
Instead of taking time to love up on ourselves, we end up fighting crowds and traffic or going to events we just flat out don’t want to attend.
This weekend, I invite you to take a step back and consider what would be most nourishing for you-
How would you love to spend your time?
What would you love to do that’s just for you?
Be conscious and aware— how can you honor yourself and bring balance to the high energy of summer (holi)days?
Here are some simple tips for going inward & relaxing:
1) Nourish yourself. Wake up and enjoy a tea ritual to start your day, followed by a lovingly prepared breakfast. Sip and eat slowly — savor each bite without rushing to the next activity.
Here is one of my favorite playlists for Slow, Sacred Mornings.
2) Set boundaries. It's okay to say "No." or to set a time limit on any of your holiday activities. Boundaries are an act of self-love and self-honoring. The most precious gift you have is your time, why not give some of it to yourself?
I'm currently reading this book on boundaries recommended by a friend.
3) Do something loving for yourself. Open a book you've wanted to read. Set aside some time for an herbal bath. Go on a leisurely walk through your neighborhood. Get to bed early with a beautiful evening ritual. Carve out time and space just for you.
I'd love to hear from you in the comments below. How will you honor yourself this weekend and throughout the long, fun-filled days of Summer?
Sending love and blessings to you,
Stephanie
