Palo Santo • Sacred Smudge Sticks
**Ethically sourced and procured from San Pedro Market, Cusco, Peru.
Used in sacred ceremonies throughout Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia, Palo Santo is a mystical tree that grows on the coast of South America. In Spanish, the name means “Holy Wood”. It is part of the citrus family and has sweet notes of pine, mint, and lemon.
Palo Santo is enjoyed by many for its energetically cleansing and healing properties and is a strong medicine, popularized for its heavenly presence in keeping energies grounded and clear.

Hold Palo Santo over an open flame, tilting the end down at a 45-degree angle and slowly rotating the stick so that all sides are exposed to the flame. Once lit, let the wood burn visibly for 20-30 seconds, relighting as necessary. Blow out the Palo Santo stick and allow it to smolder. Because of Palo Santo's particular resinous quality, the embers will self-extinguish after a few minutes. This means the wooden incense can be relit and enjoyed many times!

This Palo Santo is very high quality and carries an elegant scent. It's a slight variation from others that I've tried... and I think it's the best I've ever smelled :) Such a sweetly grounding aroma... like a hug!
